Our Latest News
Monday 9th to Sunday 15th June 2025
At HF, we are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all employees. As we mark Men’s Mental Health Week this June, we encourage everyone across HF to take time to start open and honest conversations about mental health — both within your teams and across the wider business.
Mental health affects us all, yet stigma, particularly among men, still prevents too many people from seeking help when they need it. Together, we can help break down these barriers and create a culture where mental wellbeing is openly discussed and fully supported.
How HF Supports Mental Health
HF is committed to creating a supportive workplace culture where no one has to face mental health struggles alone. We offer:
- Mental Health First Aiders across the business
- Private Health Care provision
- Access to an External Occupational Health Provider
- A strong commitment to reducing stigma and encouraging open dialogue
Our goal is to empower employees to look after their mental wellbeing and to seek support when needed — for themselves, their colleagues, and their loved ones.
Why Is Men’s Mental Health Week So Important?
The statistics speak for themselves — the need for action is clear:
- 1 in 5 men dies before the age of 65
- 4 in 5 suicides are by men, with suicide remaining the leading cause of death for men under 35
- According to the BUPA Wellbeing Index:
- 43% of working British men want greater mental health support from employers
- 50% of men have struggled with mental health at some point, yet fewer than half have sought medical advice
- 37% of men admit to hiding their mental health issues from their partners
- 30% of men say they don’t know where to turn for advice or support
- 65% of employees believe stigma around men’s mental health is still strong
These figures remind us why raising awareness and offering support matters. Mental health struggles are common — and recovery starts with the courage to talk and seek help.
Let’s Start the Conversation
This week — and every week — let’s work together to create a culture at HF where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health. Small conversations can make a big difference.
Take care of yourself. Look out for your colleagues. And remember: it’s OK to talk.
