The fairways were once again flooded with sunshine this year for our annual, internal HF Golf Competition. And with the weather so good, it helped set the stage for a day of good laughs and a lot of good and bad golf. Far more than just a competition, the event brought together employees from across our UK branches, representing Electrical, Mechanical, Fire & Security, Comms, and Controls.
At the heart of the tournament lies the historic HF Sporting Trophy. Spanning over 30 years, the trophy is etched with the names of HF family members past and present and remains a powerful symbol of our company culture, highlighting a deep commitment to employee wellbeing and team spirit that extends well beyond the workplace.

A Thrilling Showdown on the Green
This year’s competition pitted new challengers against returning contenders, all eager to see if last year’s winner, Graeme Sneddon from our Green Energy team, could defend his title. The leaderboard was tight throughout the day, driving the action down to the final holes. It might not have been to the same high standards of the PGA Tour but there were some epic puts, some long drives and even a chip in for Eagle on the very first hole.
In a fantastic day, Jonathan Lopez from HF Fire & Security brought the title back to his division, delivering a standout performance to claim top honours.
Celebrating the Victory
The event wrapped up with well-earned celebrations in the clubhouse, where team members gathered to trade stories from their rounds. While Graeme has had to hand over the top prize, the friendly rivalry was evident and there are already quite a few HF colleagues chomping at the bit to take the trophy off Jonathan’s hands next year.
The day’s success underscores our ongoing commitment to the people who power HF Group and the strong bonds that unite our nationwide team. Congratulations to Jonathan on a brilliant win!
