Celebrating the “Character” of the HF Community
At HF, our commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and Social Value is built on the belief that we aren’t just a business; we are a training ground for the leaders of tomorrow. While we are proud of the miles of cabling we lay and the complex mechanical systems we install, we are even prouder of the people who develop their careers within our walls.
Today, we are thrilled to celebrate a very special success story within the HF family.
A Collective Achievement at St Mirren FC
We would like to extend our massive congratulations to Keith Lasley, CEO of St Mirren Football Club, who has officially been named the SPFL CEO of the Year at the Football Business Awards 2026.
Keith was recognised alongside leaders from the Premier League and Championship for his outstanding leadership and the “collective achievement” of his team in Paisley. Keith’s transition from an iconic playing career to a top-tier executive is a testament to his work ethic. But for those of us at HF, we know exactly where that foundation of hard work began.
The “HF Roots” and Learning the Trade
Long before he was leading a Premiership football club, Keith was “serving his time” as an apprentice right here at HF Group. He learned his trade under the mentorship of our Mechanical & Electrical Director, John A. Ferguson.
At HF, our apprenticeship program is designed to do more than teach technical skills. We aim to build character, resilience, and a community-first mindset. Seeing Keith rise to the very top of the football business sector is a source of immense pride for John and the entire HF team.
“It is great to see those who have started their journey at HF develop such strong character and go on to achieve great things in the wider community. Keith’s success reflects the values we hold at HF — hard work, discipline, and being a ‘team behind the team’.”
John A. Ferguson, Managing Director, HF Mechanical & Electrical
Social Value & Community Impact
As a company with such rich roots in the community, Keith’s story is a shining example of our Social Value mission in action. We don’t just invest in infrastructure; we invest in people. Whether our team members stay with us for forty years or move on to lead national sports institutions, the “HF DNA” of excellence and integrity stays with them.
Keith will be representing St Mirren at the Football Business Awards ceremony in London on Friday 15th May, where the overall CEO of the Year will be announced.
Why This Matters to HF
Keith’s recognition is a reminder that the impact of a local business goes far beyond the services it provides. By providing young people with the opportunity to learn a trade and develop a professional work ethic, we are contributing to the social and economic health of our community.
We wish Keith the very best of luck at the Brewery in London later this month. He will always have a “home team” here at HF Group cheering him on!
Well Connected. Well Protected. Community Driven.
