December 12th marks yet another extraordinary milestone for HF as we celebrate 30 years of dedicated service by our HF Comms Managing Director, Greg Madine. Greg has been at the heart of HF Comms since its inception, guiding the division from its early days with Atlantic Telecom to its current position as one of the UK’s leading 5G installation specialists.
Greg’s leadership has been instrumental in HF Comms’ evolution. Over the years, he has helped us to oversee transformative projects, such as:
- Creating the infrastructure to enable passengers on planes to access Wi-Fi across the UK.
- Leading Air-to-Ground installations for the Emergency Services Network.
- Upgrading communication systems throughout the UK to 5G capability.
- Establishing the groundwork for the UK’s Smart Meter rollout in Scotland and London.
- The UK’s Mobile Infrastructure project (M.I.P.).
- UK EV infrastructure rollout.
His relentless drive, deep expertise and passion for innovation is only matched by his love of curry and his efforts, along with many others in the HF family, to have positioned HF Comms as a leader in the fast-paced UK communications industry.

From his epic Tartan Terror Tours to West Highland Way Adventures, where clients could only be impressed with his encyclopaedic knowledge of aeroplanes (and if you didn’t know that, you are more than welcome to put him to the test), he brings a unique energy to everything he does.
Greg’s 30-year milestone provides an opportunity for us to reflect on HF Comms’ remarkable journey. Especially since Greg has been there since the beginning. Since its founding in 1996, HF Comms has grown to what it is today, all while facing and overcoming significant challenges including recessions to global pandemics. And a huge part of that has to be credited to the dedication of Greg and the HF team.
From what started as modest team, HF Comms has grown to over 100 highly skilled engineers working on ground-breaking projects across the UK. Always consistently delivered excellence while maintaining its family-driven ethos. As Greg often says, “Success isn’t just about where we’ve been, but where we’re going.”
