Remembering Eddie Hunter

Career Stories, Our Latest News

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Eddie Hunter, a former colleague in our Mechanical Division, passed away over the weekend at the age of 82.

Eddie joined HF having previously worked at Parkinson Twaddle, and for many years was based in our Glasgow branch. During his time with us, Eddie made a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. Many who knew him would describe him as “one in a million” – a man who gave his very best to every project and every team he was a part of.

Outside of his work with HF, Eddie was deeply involved in football. A lifelong servant to Queen’s Park Football Club, Eddie spent his entire playing career with the Spiders before stepping into the role of head coach, a position he held with distinction for 15 years between 1979 and 1994.

Their thoughts – and ours – are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Glasgow may be one of the UK’s largest cities, but it can also feel very small. Eddie’s influence extended far and wide, and closer to home, he even coached both our own Contract Manager, Davie Taylor, and our Estimating Director, Craig Stephenson, in their youth. His dedication to both his profession and his sport leaves a legacy that will not be forgotten.

On behalf of everyone at HF Group, we extend our deepest condolences to Eddie’s family, friends, and former colleagues. He will be remembered fondly.
