Safety is often discussed as a set of rules. At HF Comms, we view it differently. For us, safety is a collective commitment. A shared mindset that drives our performance on every site, every single day.
Every year, we hold our Annual HF Comms Safety Day. This isn’t just a day off the tools; it is a high-level strategic summit designed to strengthen our core values and ensure that every member of our team, and our partners, returns home safely. And we are delighted to say that the 2026 Event is now in the books.

Leading from the Top
The day began with an address from John Balmer, before handing over to our dedicated H&S team, led by Jonathan Ring CertIOSH and Jamie Cooper AISEP. The presence and backing of our Directors sent a clear message: Safety isn’t an afterthought or a line item, it is our first priority.
Learning from Industry Giants
What sets the HF Comms Safety Day apart is our transparency with our clients and supply chain. We were privileged to be joined by industry experts who provided vital technical insights into the evolving landscape of UK infrastructure:
- Bobby Moinazad (Cellnex UK): Delivered a crucial deep dive into the Building Safety Act and its implications for telecom installations.
- Rebecca Chapman (Lowton Infrastructure Group): Provided expert guidance on the complexities of working safely within the high-stakes environment of Network Rail infrastructure.
- Jane Downey (Arqiva): Shared Arqiva’s innovative initiative surrounding “STCKY Risks” (S*** That Can Kill You), focusing the team on high-consequence event prevention.
A Culture of Transparency
By bringing together internal teams, approved supply chain partners, and major clients like Cellnex and Arqiva, we created a forum where we could openly discuss what works and, more importantly, what doesn’t.

This level of honesty is rare in our industry, but it is exactly what drives our “Harm Free” mission. When we share knowledge about site-specific risks and continuous improvement, we raise the standard for the entire telecommunications sector.
The Path Forward
The mindset strengthened during our Safety Day doesn’t stay in the meeting room. It is carried forward onto every rooftop, every street works site, and every rail-side project we undertake.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to our partners for their attendance and their transparency. At HF Comms, we don’t just build networks; we build them with the conviction that Safety is a shared priority.
