Brief project description: Our inhouse PROX5 design team were tasked with completing a Stage 1 feasibility study for a mobile network operators vendor swap requirements whereby they would be removing 3 existing antennas and replacing them one new Hybrid AIR antenna per sector.
The Hybrid AIR antenna is designed to provide phone and WiFi signals while also offering transmission for 5G capabilities.
This new antenna upgrade would dramatically increase the current capabilities of the proposed tower site should the project go ahead.
Project Challenges: No active work had been completed on the antenna site since 2019. This meant that accurate visuals and up to date reports on the site structure were in short supply.
Because the site already had fixed transmission antennas installed (that were not to be replaced), the main challenge of this feasibility project was to come up with a new solution to meet the mobile network operators requirements while retaining the sites existing framework.
Our inhouse design team were more than up for the challenge and we were able to successfully complete the feasibility project for the client using our PROX5 software; proving that the system would fully meet current compliance.
