Ensuring the laughs keep coming

Friday the 5th marked the opening day of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

While we love a good laugh, ensuring that the venues, pubs, clubs and restaurants across Edinburgh that depend on the tourism peaks of the festival are all able to operate continually is no laughing matter. We take it very seriously.

From electrical testing for a comedy venue to installing CCTV cameras for a local bar, there is a huge range of contracted works that we can provide across our Electrical, Mechanical and Fire & Security division for customers in the hospitality sector.

In the build up to this years Fringe festival, our multi-service division of contractors have been hard at work completed a wide variety of jobs for the various venues that are hosting events in this years Fringe Festival.  There are simply too many jobs to name everyone but to give you an idea of the work that we have done (and can do) for Bars, Restaurants and Clubs, here are some examples of the work that we have done recently across Edinburgh.

Electrical

• We installed new power sockets for a pub in Edinburgh City Centre so that they can show more Premier League football games during the festival for customers who want a break from the comedy and instead want to watch their favourite football team.
• We have completed a new LED Lighting upgrade for a restaurant so that they can a) save money on their electrical bills and b) provide a more intimate setting for their customers thanks to the incorporated mood lighting system with controls that allow them to tailor the lighting in different areas of the restaurant.
• We wired and installed power for new external heaters for a beer garden.  This might surprise you but it can get quite chilly in Scotland (even in the summer) so installing external heaters is a great way for pubs to keep their customers warm and happy.

Mechanical

• We replaced a faulty air conditioning system for a night club to ensure that the customers can focus on dancing the night away.
• We installed a new boiler condensate pump so that a famous Edinburgh Bar could have reliable running hot water for customers in the washrooms.
• We fitted a new gas stove for a restaurant as a ‘feature piece’ of the restaurant for the evening diners.  The gas stove needed to be fitted by our Gas Safe registered installers.

Fire & Security

• We installed a new CCTV system for a pub/restaurant.
• We fitted a new tagging barrier for a local convenience store to help protect their store from thieves.
• We fitted a new Fire Alarm System for a local hotel in time for the festival and the summer rush.
