The launch of a new Miller & Carter steakhouse in Aberdeen required a comprehensive M&E transformation. To meet the brand’s exacting standards, the project demanded a seamless integration of “front-of-house” luxury and “back-of-house” industrial efficiency.

HF was tasked with delivering a full turnkey electrical and mechanical package, transforming the site from a raw space into a fully operational, high-specification restaurant. The project required precise coordination between our electrical and mechanical divisions to ensure the heavy power and gas demands of a commercial kitchen were met without compromising the guest experience.

Electrical Engineering & Lighting Design

Our electrical team executed a complete rewiring of the premises, designed to support the high-density power requirements of a modern restaurant.

• Lighting & Atmosphere: We installed a sophisticated array of lighting fixtures and fittings, essential for creating the signature Miller & Carter ambiance. This included everything from decorative front-of-house features to high-output task lighting in the kitchens.
• Power Distribution: We installed all new sockets and dedicated power feeds for the bar, dining areas, and administrative offices.
• Commercial Kitchen Power: A critical element involved providing heavy-duty power supplies to the kitchen and back-of-house areas, ensuring all refrigeration and cooking equipment could operate at peak capacity.

Mechanical, Heating & Gas Services

The mechanical scope was extensive, focusing on climate comfort and the essential infrastructure for a high-volume kitchen.

• Commercial Gas Supply: We installed the specialised gas supply lines required for the professional kitchen suite, adhering to the highest safety and regulatory standards.
• Heating & Climate: To ensure guest comfort in the Aberdeen climate, we fitted a brand-new heating system, including high-efficiency radiators throughout the building.
• Plumbing & Sanitaryware: Our team managed the full plumbing installation, including the fitting of all high-quality sanitaryware for the guest and staff bathrooms, ensuring both style and durability.
