Building on our successful track record with Mitchells & Butlers, HF was appointed to deliver a full Mechanical & Electrical refurbishment for their flagship restaurant on Aberdeen’s bustling Union Street. Unlike a raw shell fit-out, this project focused on refreshing, upgrading and modernising an existing high-volume establishment while enhancing operational efficiency and guest comfort.
Our multi-disciplinary teams executed a comprehensive overhaul of the site’s core services. Electrical upgrades focused on modernised power distribution, intelligent lighting control systems, and high-efficiency task lighting. On the mechanical side, our team upgraded the heating and climate infrastructure and validated high-capacity gas and plumbing lines to support peak restaurant operations.
By coordinating a seamless, single-source M&E package, HF refreshed this prominent city-centre steakhouse with minimal operational downtime and maximum impact.

Refreshing an established flagship restaurant in a high-footfall location like Union Street presents unique logistical and technical demands. The project required upgrading existing infrastructure to meet evolving brand standards and modern energy-efficiency targets without disrupting surrounding commercial activities.
To deliver the refreshed Miller & Carter experience, HF had to integrate high-specification decorative lighting and climate controls front-of-house, while simultaneously upgrading heavy-duty power and gas supplies back-of-house. Precise scheduling across our electrical, mechanical, and plumbing divisions ensured every phase of the refresh progressed safely, efficiently, and to exact client standards.

The Union Street refresh successfully modernised Miller & Carter’s flagship Aberdeen venue, providing an elevated dining environment backed by resilient, energy-efficient building services.
