Domestic Hybrid Intruder Alarm & CCTV Install

Following a recent home relocation, a long-standing client re-engaged HF Fire & Security to design and install a tailored security ecosystem for their new residential property. Building on a trusted history with HF, the client sought a solution that would preserve the existing physical wiring while introducing modern wireless expansion and total perimeter video surveillance.

We delivered a hybrid security architecture, integrating legacy hardwired detection points with modern wireless capability, complemented by a 5-camera CCTV system offering full external coverage.

The newly acquired property possessed an older, legacy intruder alarm framework with functional hardwired wiring runs. However, the existing infrastructure presented key limitations.

The existing panel lacked modern smart features, mobile accessibility, and expandability. Certain areas of the new property layout lacked wired sensor cabling, requiring additional protection without the disruption of lifting floors or chasing out walls. And the property had no external video surveillance, leaving perimeter entry points and driveways unmonitored.

The goal was to deliver a unified, non-intrusive, and highly reliable security system that maximised the value of the existing wired infrastructure while incorporating modern technology.

The Solution

Drawing on decades of expertise in integrated residential security, we designed a two-fold solution combining hybrid intruder detection with high-definition IP video surveillance.

1. Hybrid Intruder Alarm Panel Upgrade

• Legacy Integration: We upgraded the master control panel to a hybrid system, retaining and retrofitting the existing hardwired door contacts and motion detectors to minimise installation costs and building disruption.
• Wireless Expansion: We installed integrated wireless expansion modules to add modern wireless PIR sensors, shock sensors and door contacts in previously unprotected areas.
• Smart Access & Control: We configured the panel for remote system monitoring, arming, and alerts via a user-friendly mobile interface.

2. 5-Camera External CCTV System

• Perimeter Coverage: We installed 5 strategically positioned, weather-resistant external IP cameras to provide 360-degree coverage across all key vulnerability zones (driveway, side elevations, rear entry doors, and patio areas).
• Night Vision & Analytics: Equipped the cameras with smart infrared night vision and motion detection alerts to ensure clear visual capture in all lighting conditions.
• Neat Cable Routing: Cleanly routed and clipped white surface conduit and external cabling to match the building’s render and downpipes, preserving the home’s external aesthetics.

By utilising the existing cabling, we reduced labor time and structural disruption while keeping material costs focused on upgraded technology.

The full external video coverage paired with immediate perimeter intrusion detection ensures total protection for the client’s family and assets, all reinforcing a long-term client relationship that shows why once again, clients return to HF across moves and property upgrades.
