The installation of a Wallbox Pulsar Plus tethered charging point in Glasgow required a strategic infrastructure upgrade to accommodate increased electrical demand. To ensure long-term reliability and safety, HF’s team performed a consumer unit upgrade in the garage, replacing the legacy hardware with a modern, high-capacity distribution board. By also increasing the cross-sectional area of the supply cable feeding the garage, our engineers future-proofed the property’s electrical system, providing stable power for both the high-draw EV charger and the newly installed IP-rated garden sockets.
Our qualified EV Charging Installers were hired to install a new ‘Wallbox Pulsar‘ Tethered EV Charging Point along with additional IP-rated garden sockets for a property in Glasgow. The electrical installation work required the consumer unit in the garage to be upgraded to a more modern unit. We also increased the size of the cable supplying this consumer unit to cope with the increased demand of the EV charger.
Project Challenges: The frontal area of the garage where the EV charging point was to be fitted was quite narrow. This meant that we could only fit a certain size of EV Charging Point. Thanks to the advances in EV Charging technology, we were able to fit a new compact charger from specialist manufacturer Wallbox to the restricted space.
