Brief project description: HF is proud of their involvement in the recent refurbishment works carried out at the Marriot Hotel located at the Heathrow Airport, London. Our works included for the identifying and tracing out electrical supplies to the lobby area of the hotel and by adapting and adding to the new layout and design set out by Marriot’s own design team of architects and consultants. The installation of floor trunking and floor box systems within the lobby area was achieved to provide concealed power and lighting supplies and allowing the Marriot to install new floor standing partitions to suit their requirements whilst giving them full flexibility of the space should it require altered in the future. New lighting was installed high level and low level, all controlled by state of the art Mode Lighting Programmable dimming systems again giving flexibility and the ability for the lighting to set the mood no matter what the occasion, day or night.
Project Challenges: With the Marriot Heathrow being based at the heart of one of London’s busiest airports the hotel required to main lobby and entrance refurbishment to happen whilst still remaining open to their customers. This required constant liaising with the Marriot Heathrow representatives to ensure that essential services such as lighting, power and data remained throughout to ensure continued trade. Combined with the area itself and the 16m ceilings we also required close communication to ensure that areas were cordoned off correctly ensuring clear safe areas of working.
The Marriot Heathrow instructed the works with the intention of creating a warm and welcoming space for their guests that also gave the flexibility that it could be transformed in additional exhibition / meeting space if required. We are pleased to advise all this and more has been achieved and all with the agreed timescale and within budget.
